The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 454T-0200 is a cobalt spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. Measuring 2 inches in diameter with a 132-degree point angle, this insert seats in a Size 4 spade drill holder and is finished with a PVD-applied TiN (titanium nitride) coating to reduce friction and extend cutting life. The GEN2 T-A series design supports aggressive feed rates while maintaining dimensional accuracy. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual boring operations across manufacturing and industrial environments.
This insert is suited for drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The broad material compatibility makes it a practical choice for job shops and production facilities working across multiple workpiece types. The TiN coating adds surface hardness and heat resistance, making it effective in high-cycle applications where tool life and hole quality are priorities. It fits directly into Allied Machine GEN2 T-A Size 4 spade drill bodies as the replaceable cutting element.
Designed for use with Allied Machine and Engineering GEN2 T-A series spade drill holders, Size 4 seat. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H).
This insert is installed and replaced by machinists or tooling technicians; ensure the drill body and spindle are fully de-energized and locked out before changing inserts. Seat the insert firmly and evenly in the holder pocket and verify screw torque per the holder manufacturer specification before resuming operation. Inspect the seat and clamping surfaces for chips or damage each time the insert is replaced to maintain runout accuracy.
