Part of the GEN2 T-A series, this insert measures 1-21/32 inches in diameter and seats into a Size 3 holder. The 132-degree point angle promotes self-centering entry and reduces thrust on workpiece entry. A TiN (titanium nitride) PVD coating extends cutting edge life by reducing friction and heat buildup at the cutting interface. Material grade M4 cobalt substrate provides toughness and wear resistance in interrupted cuts and abrasive materials.

This insert is suited for drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials — covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. Installation Notes

Spade drill insert replacement is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully and evenly in the holder pocket before torquing the clamp screw — an improperly seated insert can fracture on entry or produce out-of-tolerance holes. Follow the holder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications for the Size 3 seat.
