The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 434T-0206 is a spade drill insert designed for high-production drilling applications in metal fabrication and machining environments. This insert measures 2-3/16 inches in diameter and features a 132-degree point angle suited for clean entry into steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Manufactured from M4-grade high speed steel and finished with a PVD-applied TiN coating, the 434T-0206 delivers extended tool life and reduced friction at the cutting edge. It is part of the GEN2 T-A series and fits Seat Size 4 holders. Machining professionals and tool crib technicians specify this insert for production floor drilling cells.
The 434T-0206 is used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathe operations where spade drill tooling is the preferred method for producing large-diameter holes. Its compatibility with Seat Size 4 GEN2 T-A holders makes it a direct fit for existing tooling setups in job shops and production facilities. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals, covering a broad range of typical manufacturing applications. This insert is well suited to through-hole and blind-hole drilling where maintaining diameter accuracy and surface finish are priorities.
Designed for use with GEN2 T-A series Seat Size 4 spade drill holders. Compatible with primary workpiece materials classified as steel (P), cast iron (K), and non-ferrous metal (N) per ISO material group designations.
Installation of spade drill inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or removing the insert. Seat the insert fully into the holder and verify the locking screw torque matches the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the seating pocket for chips or debris before each insert change to maintain runout accuracy.
