The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 434T-0203 is a spade drill insert designed for high-production hole-making operations in metalworking applications. This insert measures 2-3/32 inches in diameter and features a 132-degree point angle, providing aggressive cutting geometry suited for fast material removal. Manufactured from M4 grade high speed steel and coated with a TiN (titanium nitride) finish applied via PVD process, the insert delivers increased surface hardness and extended edge life compared to uncoated tooling. It fits Seat Size 4 holders in the GEN2 T-A spade drill system. Machinists and tool-room technicians install this insert as a replaceable cutting element, keeping holder bodies in service and reducing per-hole tooling cost.
This insert is intended for drilling operations in steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals, covering ISO material groups P, K, and N. The GEN2 T-A platform is widely used in general machining environments, including CNC machining centers, manual lathes, and dedicated drill press setups where through-coolant or flood coolant is commonly applied. The 2-3/32 inch diameter makes it suitable for larger-diameter hole applications where solid tooling would be cost-prohibitive or impractical.
Designed for use with Seat Size 4 holders in the Allied Machine and Engineering GEN2 T-A spade drill system. Compatible with workpiece materials classified under ISO material groups P (steel), K (cast iron), and N (non-ferrous metals).
Spade drill insert replacement is performed by machining technicians with the machine powered off and the spindle fully stopped. The holder seat should be cleaned and inspected for wear or damage before seating the new insert. Follow the tool manufacturer's recommended clamping screw torque procedure using appropriate insert-mounting hardware. Proper coolant delivery should be confirmed before resuming cutting operations to protect both the insert and workpiece.
