The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 433T-0114 is a spade drill insert designed for high-production drilling applications in metal fabrication and machining environments. This insert measures 1-7/16 inches in diameter and belongs to the GEN2 T-A series, featuring a 132-degree point angle optimized for accurate hole entry and reduced thrust. Constructed from M4-grade high speed steel and finished with a PVD-applied TiN (titanium nitride) coating, the 433T-0114 delivers improved surface hardness and heat resistance compared to uncoated HSS inserts. It seats in a Size 3 spade drill holder and is installed and replaced by machinists and tool and die professionals on CNC and manual drill presses and machining centers.
This insert is suited for drilling into steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals, covering ISO material groups P, K, and N. The GEN2 T-A platform is a common choice for high-volume through-hole and blind-hole drilling in job shop and production floor environments where insert indexability and repeatable geometry matter. At 0.25 inches thick, the insert profile supports rigid seating in Size 3 T-A style holders, making it a practical replacement or stocking insert for shops running a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed for use with Size 3 T-A style spade drill holders in the GEN2 T-A series platform. Suitable for drilling steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals across ISO material groups P, K, and N.
Installation and replacement of spade drill inserts is performed by qualified machinists following machine-specific lockout and tagout procedures before any tooling change. The insert must be seated fully and secured in the holder according to the holder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications before spindle engagement. Inspect the seating pocket for chips or wear before installing a new insert, as debris in the seat can affect runout and insert life. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool manufacturer guidelines during all tooling operations.
