The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 29010S-100L is an indexable spade drill designed for deep-hole drilling operations in a wide range of workpiece materials. Built on the T-A 1 series platform, it accepts replaceable spade drill inserts to reduce tooling cost while maintaining consistent hole geometry. The drill features a straight flute design with through-coolant capability via axial concentric and radial coolant entry, keeping the cutting zone clear of chips during extended drilling cycles. With a 1-inch flatted shank diameter and an overall length of 26.5 inches, this tool is suited for CNC machining centers and horizontal boring mills where reach and rigidity are both required.
This drill covers a working diameter range of 45/64 to 15/16 inches and reaches a maximum drilling depth of 22.25 inches, making it appropriate for deep-hole applications in production environments. The extended-length body and straight flute geometry support chip evacuation in materials including steel alloys, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. It is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom personnel working to close-tolerance hole specifications in both general-purpose and high-volume manufacturing settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production tool for machines accepting a 1-inch flatted cylindrical shank. Compatible with T-A 1 series spade drill inserts covering the 45/64 to 15/16-inch diameter range. Specific insert selection should follow the T-A 1 series insert catalog.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists following shop safety procedures. Confirm the machine spindle bore and drive arrangement accept a 1-inch flatted cylindrical shank before mounting. Verify coolant supply pressure and flow rate are compatible with the through-coolant port configuration prior to running the drill. Inspect the drill body and insert seating surfaces for damage before each use and do not exceed the rated drilling depth of 22.25 inches.
