The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 250Y0S-075L is an indexable spade drill designed for general-purpose hole-making in a wide range of workpiece materials. It accepts interchangeable spade drill inserts and delivers consistent bore diameter control across its 3/8 to 27/64 inch working diameter range. The tool features a straight flute geometry and through-coolant capability, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in production drilling operations. With a 3/4 inch flatted cylindrical shank and a 7-17/32 inch overall length, this holder is sized for use in machining centers, drill presses, and CNC lathes. Installation and operation are performed by machinists and tool-room technicians.
This spade drill holder is suited for extended-reach drilling applications requiring up to 4-3/8 inch maximum depth. The Series T-A Y designation places it within Allied Machine's Y-series extended-length line. The axial concentric coolant entry (Style Code 1) feeds coolant through a 1/8 inch NPT threaded coolant hole, making it compatible with through-spindle coolant systems. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S indicate suitability across cast iron, non-ferrous, stainless, steel, and superalloy materials.
Designed for use with Allied Machine T-A Y Series spade drill inserts covering the 3/8 to 27/64 inch diameter range. Compatible with machining setups utilizing through-spindle coolant with 1/8 inch NPT coolant connections. Suitable for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by Allied Machine classification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool-room technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the drill holder from the toolholder or turret. Verify that the flatted shank is properly seated and clamped per the toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines before operation. Confirm through-coolant line connections are secure and free of leaks before initiating a drilling cycle.
