The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 25050S-005I is an extended-length indexable spade drill body designed for deep-hole drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built on the T-A 5 series platform, it accepts interchangeable spade blades in the 2.5 to 3.5 inch diameter range and reaches a maximum drill depth of 18.25 inches. The straight-flute design pairs with a 5MT Morse taper shank for rigid, concentric mounting in compatible taper-socket spindles. Through-coolant delivery via two radial entry ports keeps cutting edges cool and aids chip evacuation at depth. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers and operators of this toolholder.
The 25050S-005I is suited to general-purpose drilling in a broad range of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, steel, stainless, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials corresponding to primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its extended body length of 20 inches and overall length of 28.4375 inches make it appropriate for deep-bore operations on machining centers, lathes, and drill presses equipped with a No. 5 Morse taper spindle. Typical applications include large-diameter through-holes and blind bores in heavy fabrication, die and mold work, and production machining environments.
Designed for use with T-A 5 series interchangeable spade drill blades covering the 2.5 to 3.5 inch diameter range. Compatible with rotary coolant adapter model 2T-6SR. Fits machine spindles equipped with a No. 5 Morse taper socket.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with Morse taper toolholding systems. Ensure the machine spindle is fully de-energized and locked out before mounting or removing the drill body. Clean both the taper shank and spindle socket thoroughly before seating to prevent fretting and runout. Confirm coolant line connections at the 1/2 inch NPT ports are leak-free before initiating through-coolant flow.
