The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 25040S-150L is an indexable spade drill designed for deep-hole drilling applications in production and job-shop environments. Built on the T-A 4 Series platform, this extended-length drill accepts replaceable spade blade inserts, eliminating the need to replace the full body when the cutting edge wears. The 1.5-inch flatted shank seats securely in standard drill chucks or tool holders, and the straight-flute body supports efficient chip evacuation at depths up to 16.625 inches. Through-coolant capability, fed via dual radial-entry ports threaded 0.25-inch NPT, keeps the cutting zone cool and flushes chips during extended cuts.
This drill is intended for general-purpose machining across a wide range of workpiece materials, including steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys, consistent with Allied Machine workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Typical applications include deep-bore work on machining centers, horizontal mills, and CNC lathes where a rigid, extended-reach drilling tool is required. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC setup technicians in metalworking facilities requiring precision hole-making beyond standard drill depth ranges.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling selection for machines accepting a 1.5-inch flatted cylindrical shank. Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by Allied Machine and Engineering for the T-A 4 Series platform.
This tool is installed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the drill body from the tool holder. Verify that the flatted shank is fully seated and clamping screws are properly tightened before operation. Connect through-coolant supply lines to the 0.25-inch NPT radial-entry ports and confirm coolant flow is active before initiating the cut to prevent insert damage from heat buildup.
