The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 25005S-075L is an indexable spade drill designed for through-coolant drilling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. It accepts interchangeable spade drill inserts and covers a diameter range of 39/64 to 11/16 inches with a maximum drill depth of 4-1/2 inches. The straight flute geometry and axial concentric coolant entry support chip evacuation and thermal control during extended cutting cycles. The tool body is constructed from steel and mounts on a flatted cylindrical shank measuring 3/4 inches in diameter. Machinists and toolroom operators use this holder in CNC machining centers and drill presses where consistent, repeatable hole quality is required.
The 25005S-075L belongs to the T-A 0.5 series and is rated for general-purpose drilling across universal workpiece material groups, including cast iron, hardened steel, stainless, nonferrous, and structural steel, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. With an overall length of 7-11/16 inches and an extended-length designation, it suits setups requiring additional reach beyond standard-length configurations. The through-coolant design connects via a 1/8-inch NPT coolant port, making it compatible with machine spindles equipped with internal coolant delivery.
Designed for use with T-A 0.5 series indexable spade drill inserts covering the 39/64 to 11/16 inch diameter range. Compatible workpiece material groups include H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by the supplier. Confirm insert and toolholder compatibility with ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING T-A series specifications before ordering.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with indexable drilling systems. Power down the machine and lock out the spindle before inserting or replacing the spade drill insert. Verify that the coolant supply line is properly connected to the 1/8-inch NPT port and that system pressure is within the machine specification before running. Torque all clamping screws according to the insert manufacturer instructions supplied with the T-A series insert, and confirm runout with a dial indicator before production drilling.
