The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 24520H-125F is a T-A 2 Series indexable spade drill designed for deep-hole drilling in a wide range of workpiece materials. The body features helical fluting and through-coolant capability via a 1/4 inch NPT axial concentric entry port, helping clear chips and manage heat in demanding production environments. The flatted cylindrical shank measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter and seats securely in standard drill chucks or toolholders. Overall length is 13.484 inches. At 2.41 pounds, this is a rigid, steel-body holder engineered for general-purpose drilling on machining centers and drill presses where consistency and repeatability matter.
This indexable spade drill is suited for production machining applications requiring diameters between 31/32 inches and 1-3/8 inches and depths up to 9-3/8 inches. The long-length configuration extends reach for deep features in components such as flanges, blocks, and structural parts. Universal material compatibility - coded H, K, M, N, P, and S - covers steel, stainless, cast iron, nonferrous alloys, high-temp alloys, and hardened materials, making it a practical choice for job shops and production cells running mixed-material programs.
Designed for use with Allied Machine T-A 2 Series indexable spade drill inserts. Compatible with machining centers, CNC drill presses, and manual drill presses equipped with toolholders accepting a 1-1/4 inch flatted shank. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S indicate universal material suitability as defined in the input data.
Installation and tool setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before loading or unloading the holder. Verify shank seating depth and clamp engagement against the flatted drive surface before running the program. Confirm coolant supply pressure and port connection at the 1/4 inch NPT entry before enabling through-coolant flow.
