The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 24025S-125L is a T-A 2.5 Series indexable spade drill designed for general-purpose hole-making in a wide range of workpiece materials. It accepts interchangeable spade drill inserts and delivers drilling capacity from 1-3/16 inches to 1-3/8 inches in diameter, with a maximum drilling depth of 7-3/8 inches. The 12-inch overall length and 1-1/4-inch flatted shank make it compatible with standard drill holders used in machining centers and CNC lathes. Through-coolant capability with axial concentric and radial coolant entry supports chip evacuation and tool life in demanding production environments. Machinists and toolroom professionals specify this body for its straight-flute geometry and universal material compatibility.
This spade drill body is suited for production drilling operations in machining centers, turret lathes, and mill-turn platforms. Its universal primary workpiece material rating covers cast iron, steel alloys, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, aluminum, and high-temperature alloys, making it applicable across general job-shop and production-shop workflows. The standard-length configuration fits common fixturing setups where moderate reach and rigid support are required. Through-coolant delivery helps maintain cutting temperatures and flush chips in deep-hole applications approaching the 7-3/8-inch maximum depth.
Designed for use with compatible T-A 2.5 Series spade drill inserts. Rated for universal primary workpiece materials including steel, cast iron, stainless, non-ferrous, aluminum, and high-temperature alloys (material codes H, K, M, N, P, S). Specific insert compatibility should be confirmed against the T-A 2.5 Series insert selection chart.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is disabled before loading or unloading the drill body. Confirm the flatted shank seats fully in the holder and that all set screws are torqued per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify coolant supply lines are connected and pressure-tested before initiating a cut cycle.
