The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 24005S-075F is an indexable spade drill designed for general-purpose hole-making in a wide range of workpiece materials. Built on the T-A 0.5 series platform, it accepts replaceable spade drill inserts, allowing the body to be reused across multiple jobs. The drill covers a diameter range of 39/64 to 11/16 inches with a maximum drill depth of 2-1/2 inches. A straight flute geometry and axial concentric coolant entry support chip evacuation and cutting-zone cooling during through-coolant operation. The steel body is suited for use in machining centers and drill presses operated by machinists and toolroom technicians.
This spade drill is intended for production and job-shop drilling applications across universal workpiece material groups, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, cast irons, and high-temperature alloys as indicated by material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The 3/4-inch flatted shank seats in standard toolholders and collet chucks sized for that diameter. With a standard-length configuration and an overall length of 5-21/32 inches, it fits common spindle setups without requiring extended-reach toolholders. Through-coolant capability makes it practical for deeper cuts where chip packing and heat buildup are concerns.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit tool within the ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING T-A 0.5 series indexable spade drill system, compatible with standard toolholders accepting a 3/4-inch flatted shank.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify that the flatted shank is properly seated and the holder fastener torque meets the toolholder manufacturer specification before running. Ensure through-coolant supply pressure and flow rate are compatible with the machine tool prior to operation.
