The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 23020H-125F is an indexable spade drill designed for general-purpose drilling in a wide range of workpiece materials. Part of the T-A 2 series, it accepts interchangeable spade drill inserts and operates with through-coolant delivery via a 1/4 inch NPT axial concentric entry port. The flatted cylindrical shank measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter, and the tool reaches a maximum drill depth of 5-3/8 inches. The helical flute geometry promotes chip evacuation during deep-hole operations. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The 23020H-125F is suited for intermediate-length drilling applications across universal workpiece material categories, including steel, cast iron, nonferrous metals, and superalloys as indicated by material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is appropriate for horizontal and vertical machining centers and manual boring mills where a 1-1/4 inch shank is compatible with the spindle or tool holder. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling in medium-to-large production runs where insert indexability reduces per-hole tooling cost.
Rated for universal primary workpiece materials including material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering steel, cast iron, nonferrous, and high-temp alloy categories. Compatible with tool holders accepting a 1-1/4 inch flatted cylindrical shank. Designed for use with T-A 2 series indexable spade drill inserts.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool holder. Confirm the tool holder bore and drive flat alignment match the 1-1/4 inch flatted shank before tightening. Connect through-coolant supply to the 1/4 inch NPT port and verify coolant flow rate and pressure meet machine and insert manufacturer guidelines before beginning a cut.
