The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 22005S-075L is a short-series indexable spade drill designed for general-purpose hole-making in a wide range of workpiece materials. It accepts interchangeable spade drill inserts and delivers consistent bore geometry across its working diameter range of 39/64 to 11/16 inches. The tool features a straight flute configuration and axial concentric through-coolant delivery to manage heat and chip evacuation at the cutting zone. With an overall length of 4-9/16 inches and a 3/4-inch flatted shank, it mounts securely in standard drill chucks and tool holders used in machining centers and lathes.
This spade drill body is suited for production and job-shop environments where operators need reliable, repeatable drilling without the cost of solid-carbide tooling. The short-series body length keeps deflection low in setups with limited spindle clearance. Through-coolant capability makes it appropriate for deeper engagement within its 1-3/8 inch maximum drill depth rating, particularly in steels, cast irons, non-ferrous metals, and high-temp alloys. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary end users for this type of tooling.
Designed for use with compatible T-A Series 0.5 spade drill inserts in the corresponding diameter range. Fits standard 3/4 inch straight-shank tool holders and drill chucks. Verify insert series compatibility before ordering replacement blades.
Installation and setup should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC programmers familiar with indexable drilling tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is de-energized before mounting or removing the drill body. Confirm coolant line connections at the 1/8 inch NPT port are leak-free before running at pressure. Secure the flatted shank with appropriate set screws torqued per the tool holder manufacturer's specifications.
