The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 22005S-075F is an indexable spade drill designed for general-purpose hole-making in a wide range of workpiece materials. Part of the T-A 0.5 Series, it accepts interchangeable spade drill inserts and delivers consistent bore quality without regrinding. The drill features a straight flute geometry with axial concentric coolant entry, keeping the cutting zone clear and managing heat during extended drilling cycles. The flatted cylindrical shank measures 3/4 inches in diameter, providing positive drive and resistance to rotation in the holder. Overall length is 4-17/32 inches with a body length of 2-1/2 inches.
This spade drill body is suited for CNC machining centers, manual lathes, and drill presses where repeatable hole diameters from 39/64 to 11/16 inches are required. The through-coolant design makes it effective in deep-hole and high-feed applications where chip evacuation is a production concern. Maximum drill depth reaches 1-3/8 inches, making it appropriate for short-series drilling operations in steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and exotic alloys. Machinists and tooling technicians in job shops and production environments are the primary users.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement body for the T-A 0.5 Series indexable spade drill system, accepting inserts within the 39/64 to 11/16 inch diameter range. Compatible with workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S per standard material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the drill body from the holder. Verify the flatted shank is fully seated and the set screw is torqued to the holder manufacturer's specification before running. Confirm coolant supply line pressure and 1/8 inch thread coolant port connection are leak-free before initiating the first cycle.
