The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 21611-0004 is an indexable spade drill designed for high-performance metal removal in industrial machining applications. It accepts interchangeable spade drill inserts and is built on the HP-A Series platform, which is engineered for rigidity and precise hole quality. The drill covers a diameter range of 31/32 inches to 1-3/8 inches, reaches a maximum drill depth of 3 inches, and features a straight flute geometry. The body is constructed from steel and the 4MT taper shank provides secure, self-holding retention in compatible taper-socket spindles. Through-coolant capability with radial entry ports supports chip evacuation and tool life in demanding materials.
This drill is intended for use in production machining environments where consistent hole tolerances and high material removal rates are required. The universal primary workpiece material classification indicates suitability across a broad range of materials including steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. It is well suited for horizontal and vertical machining centers or drill presses equipped with a 4MT taper socket. The short-length body profile improves rigidity in setups where overhang must be minimized. A rotary coolant adapter compatible designation of 2T-4SR is noted for through-spindle coolant configurations.
Designed for use with spade drill inserts in the HP-A Series system. Rotary coolant adapter compatibility is noted for the 2T-4SR adapter. Compatible with machine spindles accepting a 4MT (Morse Taper 4) shank socket.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. The machine spindle must be fully de-energized and locked out before mounting or removing the drill holder. Verify that the 4MT taper socket and shank surfaces are clean and free of nicks before seating. Coolant connections should be confirmed for proper thread engagement before initiating any cycle.
