The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C50T-.578 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in steel and hard materials. At 37/64 inch diameter with a 132-degree point angle, this insert delivers accurate, stable entry geometry suited to demanding production environments. The TiN (Titanium Nitride) PVD coating extends wear resistance and reduces built-up edge during cutting. Manufactured to a C5 (P40) material grade, the insert fits Seat Size 0 within the T-A series spade drill system. Machinists and tooling technicians working in job shops, production facilities, and industrial machining centers are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is engineered for use in T-A series spade drill bodies at Seat Size 0. It is suited for drilling steel and hard material workpieces where consistent hole quality and insert longevity are priorities. The 132-degree point geometry reduces thrust forces on entry and supports self-centering in standard drilling operations. Applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling in production machining on CNC lathes, machining centers, and dedicated drilling equipment. The insert is sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 2 units.
Designed for use with T-A series Seat Size 0 spade drill bodies. Compatible with primary workpiece materials classified as Steel (P) and Hard Material (H) per ISO material group designations.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully de-energized and the spindle at a complete stop. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw specified by the spade drill body manufacturer to seat the insert properly — do not over-torque or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert seat and body pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the tooling manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material grade when setting up the cut.
