The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C21T-0026 is a spade drill insert designed for high-performance drilling in demanding material applications. Built from C2 (K20) carbide and finished with a PVD-applied TiN (titanium nitride) coating, this insert delivers extended tool life and reduced cutting friction. The 132-degree point angle suits flat-bottom entry and controlled penetration in tough workpiece materials. At 0.1563 inches thick and 13/16 inches in diameter, it seats into a Size 1 T-A series holder. Machinists and tool-room technicians install this insert in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and similar equipment where consistent hole geometry and insert longevity are required.
This insert is rated for primary use in stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium. It is manufactured under the T-A series system using fractional inch measurement standards. Its TiN coating provides a visible gold finish and improves hardness at the cutting edge, making it suitable for production drilling environments where tool changes must be minimized. The insert is sold individually and is compatible with the T-A series spade drill body system from ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING.
Designed for use with T-A series spade drill bodies requiring a Seat Size 1 insert. Compatible primary workpiece materials include stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), non-ferrous metals (N), and superalloys and titanium (S) per ISO material code classification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before changing inserts, the machine must be powered down and the spindle brought to a full stop. Seat the insert flush against the body pocket and torque the clamping screw using the tool manufacturer's recommended driver — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excess clamping force. Inspect the seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
