The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C20T-0020 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. Built to T-A Series specifications, this insert features a 132-degree point angle and a 5/8-inch diameter with a Seat Size 0 interface. A PVD-applied TiN coating reduces friction and extends tool life in production drilling operations. At 0.125 inches thick and manufactured to C2 (K20) grade carbide, this insert delivers the edge retention and thermal resistance required for interrupted cuts and difficult workpiece materials. It is used by machinists, tool and die specialists, and production drilling operators in metal fabrication and precision machining environments.
The 1C20T-0020 is rated for use across multiple primary workpiece material categories, including stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super-alloys and titanium. These classifications align with ISO material codes M, K, N, and S, making this insert a versatile choice for shops running mixed-material production schedules. The T-A Series platform is a modular spade drill system that separates the insert from the holder, allowing insert replacement without removing the tool body from the spindle in many setups. This insert fits Seat Size 0 T-A Series holders.
Designed for use with T-A Series Seat Size 0 spade drill holders. Compatible primary workpiece materials include stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super-alloys and titanium (ISO material codes M, K, N, and S).
Installation of spade drill inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat surfaces on both the insert and holder should be clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver or wrench for the retaining screw — do not over-tighten by feel. Inspect the insert seating surface and holder pocket for wear or damage at each insert change.
