The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 182T-0110 is a cobalt spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding machining applications. Built to T-A Series Seat Size 2 specifications, this insert features a 132-degree point angle and a TiN (titanium nitride) PVD coating that extends tool life by reducing friction and heat buildup at the cutting edge. At 0.1875 inches thick and sized for 1-5/16 inch diameter bores, it mounts into compatible T-A Series spade drill holders. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians install this insert in production and job-shop environments where consistent hole quality and insert interchangeability are required.
This insert is suited for drilling operations in a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The TiN PVD coating provides wear resistance across these material categories, making it a practical choice for general-purpose production drilling as well as tougher aerospace and heavy-industry applications. It is packaged individually and ordered in single-unit quantities, making it straightforward to replace a single insert without committing to bulk quantities.
Designed for use with T-A Series spade drill holder bodies accepting Seat Size 2 inserts. Suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials as indicated by material classification codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Inspect the holder pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before installing a new insert. Follow the holder manufacturer's clamping torque guidelines and verify insert seating before resuming cutting operations.
