The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 152T-1.109 is a spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. With a 1-7/64 inch diameter and a 132-degree point angle, this insert is engineered for aggressive material removal and accurate hole geometry. It is constructed from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) titanium nitride (TiN) coating, which reduces friction, extends edge life, and improves heat resistance during high-speed drilling. The insert mounts to a Seat Size 2 T-A series blade holder and is sold individually.
This insert is suited for production drilling in metalworking shops, machining centers, and fabrication environments. The T-A series spade drill system is commonly used in CNC lathes, machining centers, and manual drill presses where interchangeable insert tooling reduces setup time and tooling cost. The 152T-1.109 is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium workpiece materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. It is typically installed by machinists and tooling technicians in job shops and production facilities.
Designed for use with Allied Machine T-A series Seat Size 2 blade holders and spade drill bodies. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium (ISO groups P, M, K, S).
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians during tool setup or insert changeover. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating any insert. Ensure the blade seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert, as contamination will affect runout and insert clamping. Follow the blade holder manufacturer torque procedure for the clamping screw — do not overtighten.
