The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 152T-0100 is a cobalt spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making operations in demanding metalworking applications. Built to T-A Series specifications, this insert features a 132-degree point angle and a physical vapor deposition (PVD) TiN coating applied over a T15 cobalt substrate. The TiN coating reduces friction and extends tool life when drilling through tough workpiece materials. At 1 inch in diameter and Seat Size 2, it drops directly into compatible T-A Series spade drill holders. Licensed machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators are the primary users of this insert in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The cobalt T15 grade provides the heat resistance and hardness needed for interrupted cuts and high-feed applications common in heavy manufacturing, aerospace component production, and general machining. The 132-degree point geometry promotes centering stability and reduces thrust load at entry, making it effective in both through-hole and blind-hole applications across a range of spindle speeds and coolant setups.
Designed for use with ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING T-A Series spade drill holders accepting Seat Size 2 inserts at 1 inch diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with modular spade drill systems. Before changing inserts, power down the spindle and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state per applicable shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert fully and evenly in the holder pocket and secure the clamping screw to manufacturer torque specifications using the correct wrench — do not overtighten or use impact tools on insert screws. Inspect the holder seat for chips or debris before installing a new insert to prevent seating errors.
