The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 150T-.515 is a spade drill insert engineered for high-performance hole-making in demanding industrial and metalworking applications. Sized at 33/64 inch in diameter with a 132-degree point angle, this insert is manufactured from T15 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) TiN (titanium nitride) coating. The TiN coating reduces friction and increases surface hardness, extending tool life in abrasive cutting conditions. At 0.125 inch thickness, this insert fits Seat Size 0 holders in the T-A series system. It is designed for machinists and tooling specialists working in production drilling environments where consistent geometry and material compatibility are critical.
This insert is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It carries primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, and S, covering a broad range of ferrous and high-temperature alloys commonly encountered in aerospace, oil and gas, and general metalworking shops. The T-A series modular design allows the insert to be replaced independently from the holder body, making it a cost-effective solution for high-volume drilling operations where insert changeover speed matters.
Designed for use with T-A series Seat Size 0 spade drill holder bodies. Compatible with primary workpiece materials classified under codes P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and S (superalloys and titanium) per standard ISO material designation.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and at a complete stop. Use the appropriate T-A series seat and fastener hardware specified by the holder manufacturer to secure the insert correctly. Inspect the seat pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert. Follow the tooling manufacturer's feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material being drilled.
