The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 150T-0020-FB is a spade drill insert designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating, this insert delivers extended tool life and reduced heat buildup at the cutting edge. The insert measures 5/8 inch in diameter, features a 180-degree point angle, and sits at 0.125 inches thick. It is a Seat Size 0 insert compatible with the T-A series insert system. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and production drilling operators install this insert in T-A series drill holders for precision hole-making operations.
This insert is rated for use in a broad range of primary workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium. It is well-suited for general production drilling, job shop work, and toolroom applications where consistent hole quality and tool longevity are priorities. The T-A series system is a modular spade drill platform, and this insert is sold as a single-piece unit.
Designed for use with T-A series spade drill holders that accept a Seat Size 0 insert. Compatible primary workpiece material classifications include P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and S (super-alloys and titanium).
This insert is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician into a compatible T-A series spade drill holder. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is secured in a vise or fixture before seating or removing the insert. Verify the seat and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before installation to ensure proper seating and runout. Follow the drill holder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw, as those values are specific to the holder and are not provided here.
