The ALLIED AIR ED1P30/36AN is a cased, downflow evaporator coil designed for use with gas furnaces in residential and light commercial split-system air conditioning applications. Rated at 2.5 to 3 tons of cooling capacity, this coil features TXV (thermostatic expansion valve) metering for precise refrigerant flow control and improved system efficiency. Construction uses heavy-gauge steel cabinetry with a single drain pan that is infused with an antibacterial agent to inhibit mold and bacteria growth. Rifled tubing and lanced coil fins enhance refrigerant flow and maximize air-to-metal surface contact for efficient heat transfer. The unit is AHRI certified, confirming third-party performance verification.
This coil is intended for downflow furnace installations where the air handler discharges air downward through the coil. It is sized for gas furnace systems operating at 2.5 to 3 tons and is matched for use with Armstrong Air heating and cooling equipment. The removable cabinet design allows easy access for routine maintenance, coil cleaning, and drain pan service. The 3/4 inch by 3/8 inch line set connections accommodate standard residential refrigerant suction and liquid line sizing for this tonnage range.
Designed as a matched OEM-style replacement or new-installation evaporator coil for Armstrong Air heating and cooling systems. Matched system pairing is recommended to achieve rated efficiency and AHRI-certified performance.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. The refrigerant system must be recovered and the furnace power must be shut off at the disconnect before removing or installing the coil. Line set connections should be made using standard brazing procedures in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. Verify drain pan and condensate line pitch and drainage before returning the system to operation.
