This fixed orifice piston kit is engineered for use with Armstrong and Concord heating and cooling systems, specifically the Elite XC14 Series Air Conditioner refrigerant flow control circuit. It is suited for residential split-system applications where a fixed orifice metering device is used in place of a TXV. Contractors working on Armstrong Air and Concord equipment will recognize this as the correct OEM-style replacement for restoring proper refrigerant circuit performance.

Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling certification. Recover all system refrigerant and confirm the system is fully depressurized before removing or installing any metering device components. Use the included fixed orifice extractor to remove the existing orifice without damaging the seat. Wrap the PTFE ring as directed and confirm the orifice is fully seated before recharging the system.
