The ALLIED AIR 95M50 is a bi-flow filter drier designed for use in refrigeration and air conditioning systems where refrigerant must flow in either direction. The unit provides 12.4 cubic inches of desiccant volume and connects via a 3/8-inch solder connection. Its copper construction delivers solid corrosion resistance in refrigerant circuit applications. This component removes moisture and contaminants from the refrigerant stream, protecting compressors, metering devices, and other system components. Licensed HVAC technicians install this part during system commissioning, refrigerant retrofits, or compressor changeouts.
The 95M50 suits residential and light commercial split systems and heat pumps where reversing refrigerant flow is part of normal operation. Bi-flow driers are a standard requirement on heat pump systems because refrigerant direction reverses between heating and cooling modes. This drier keeps the circuit clean in both flow directions, making it appropriate for installations where a standard uni-directional drier would restrict or fail under reverse-flow conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement bi-flow filter drier for residential and light commercial heat pump and air conditioning systems requiring a 3/8-inch solder connection and 12.4 cubic inch desiccant volume.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling certification. Recover all refrigerant and isolate the system before cutting into the refrigerant circuit. Use a nitrogen purge during brazing to prevent oxidation scale inside the copper tubing. Replace the filter drier any time the system is opened to atmosphere, after a compressor burnout, or whenever moisture contamination is suspected.
