The ALLIED AIR 24Y18 is a high-efficiency downflow gas furnace rated at 97% AFUE and 110,000 BTU/h output. It runs on natural gas and uses an ECM variable-speed blower motor to modulate airflow and reduce energy consumption across two stages of heat. The two-stage burner operates at a lower stage during mild demand and ramps to full capacity when needed, improving comfort and efficiency. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit in residential or light-commercial applications where the furnace must be positioned in a downflow configuration, discharging conditioned air downward into the duct system.
This furnace is designed for downflow installations and supports a 5-ton nominal cooling configuration when paired with a compatible coil and condensing unit. Left and right utility connections provide flexibility during rough-in. The removable floor base allows for bottom return air configurations. All models in this series comply with California South Coast Air Quality Management District low NOx emissions requirements. Zero-step horizontal conversion is included, broadening installation flexibility in tight mechanical spaces.
Designed as an OEM downflow gas furnace for residential and light-commercial systems requiring a 5-ton nominal capacity and a 97% AFUE two-stage variable-speed unit in a downflow configuration.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before beginning any service or installation work. Vent this furnace per the manufacturer specifications and applicable fuel-gas codes such as the IFGC. Do not attempt to convert fuel type or alter the venting configuration without consulting the appropriate engineering documentation.
