The ALLIED AIR 12f36 is a two-stage, upflow and horizontal natural gas furnace rated at 88,000 BTU/h input capacity and 96% AFUE efficiency. It uses an ECM variable speed blower motor to modulate airflow for consistent comfort and quieter operation compared to single-speed motor designs. With an output capacity of 85,000 BTU/h and a 21-inch cabinet width, this unit is engineered for residential forced-air heating systems where space, efficiency, and precise staging matter. Licensed HVAC technicians handle the installation and commissioning of this equipment.
This furnace is designed for upflow and horizontal configurations, making it suitable for a range of residential installation scenarios including basement, closet, and attic applications where horizontal orientation is required. The two-stage gas valve reduces the burner to a lower firing rate during mild weather, which improves dehumidification during shoulder seasons and reduces temperature swings. The ECM blower delivers up to 2,008 SCFM and draws lower amperage than PSC motors across most operating speeds. The 21-inch width fits standard residential air handler closets and alcove installations.
Designed as an OEM-style residential two-stage upflow and horizontal gas furnace in the Pro Series A962V product family. Consult the full specification sheet and equipment schedule to confirm compatibility with existing ductwork, thermostat wiring, and venting systems before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), local mechanical codes, and the manufacturer installation manual. Shut off the gas supply and disconnect electrical power before any service work. The 120 VAC power supply circuit should be protected with the specified 20-amp fuse or breaker. Venting must be sized and routed per the appliance category requirements; do not mix vent materials or connect to an existing B-vent system without verifying compatibility with the furnace vent category rating.
