The ALLIED AIR 1.91148 is a cased evaporator coil rated at 2 ton nominal cooling capacity, designed for downflow air handler and furnace applications. It accepts both R-22 and R-410A refrigerants, making it a practical fit during system transitions or replacements. The coil ships fully cased for straightforward installation into existing plenums or air handler cabinets. A piston metering device is factory installed, eliminating the need for a separate TXV on standard installations. Liquid line connection is 3/8 inch and suction line connection is 7/8 inch. Licensed HVAC technicians perform this installation as part of a split-system cooling or heat pump service call.
This evaporator coil is suited for residential split-system cooling installations where a downflow configuration is required. Downflow units are commonly paired with upflow furnaces drawing cooled air downward through the duct system. The dual-refrigerant compatibility with R-22 and R-410A gives service contractors flexibility when working on older systems being retrofitted or when matching to current R-410A equipment. No auxiliary heating capacity is built into this coil; it functions solely as the cooling side of a split system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation evaporator coil for residential downflow split-system cooling applications using R-22 or R-410A refrigerant.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations. Shut down and lock out the air handler or furnace and disconnect power before connecting refrigerant lines. Leak-test all brazed connections before system startup. Do not exceed the coil's rated nominal tonnage when matching to outdoor condensing unit capacity.
