The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 7C213P-.546 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding machining applications. With a 35/64 inch diameter, a 140-degree point angle, and a Seat Size 13 shank interface, this insert mounts into compatible GEN3SYS XT spade drill bodies. The insert is manufactured from C2 (K20) grade solid carbide and finished with an AM300 PVD coating, delivering elevated wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted or continuous cuts. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production environments rely on this insert to maintain dimensional accuracy across high-volume runs.
This insert is suited for drilling operations in stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, super-alloys, and titanium - covering ISO material groups M, K, N, and S. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses where a rigid, precision-ground solid carbide insert is required. The GEN3SYS XT series is designed for applications requiring consistent hole geometry and extended tool life in difficult-to-machine materials. It is appropriate for both job-shop and production-floor use where a reliable, indexable spade drill solution is needed.
Designed for use with ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING GEN3SYS XT series spade drill bodies using Seat Size 13. Verify seat size and body series before ordering to ensure proper insert seating and retention.
Installation of spade drill inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or installing any drill insert. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified fastener to secure the insert in the body seat - do not overtighten or use improvised tools. Inspect the seat pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before each insert change to maintain concentricity and safe operation.
