The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 7C124P-0100 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance drilling in steel and hard materials. It features a 140-degree point angle and a 1-inch diameter, fitting Seat Size 24 holders in the GEN3SYS XT series. The insert is manufactured to Material Grade C1 (K35) carbide and carries an AM300 PVD coating that extends tool life in demanding cutting applications. Machinists and tooling technicians install this insert in compatible spade drill holders for production drilling operations where hole quality and tool longevity are critical.
This insert is suited for production environments drilling steel and hard materials in both job shop and manufacturing settings. The GEN3SYS XT series is engineered for high-penetration-rate applications where consistent hole geometry and reduced cycle times are required. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers and drill presses running at appropriate feeds and speeds for carbide tooling in the P and H workpiece material classifications per ISO cutting tool standards.
Designed for use with GEN3SYS XT series Seat Size 24 spade drill holders. Primary workpiece material classifications are P (steel) and H (hard materials) per ISO designation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and the holder is secured in a vise before inserting or removing the spade drill insert. Follow the holder manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping screw and inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the insert. Never run a damaged or improperly seated insert.
