The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 452H-1.015 is a cobalt spade drill insert designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Part of the GEN2 T-A series, this insert features a 132-degree point angle and an AM200 PVD coating that extends tool life in abrasive and hard workpiece materials. At 1-1/64 inches in diameter with a Seat Size 2 designation, it fits standard T-A spade drill holders in that seat class. The insert measures 0.1875 inches thick and weighs approximately 0.1 pounds. This is a single-insert package intended for machinists and tool-room professionals running production or job-shop drilling operations.
This insert is engineered for use in milling machines, CNC machining centers, and drill presses where precision hole-making in ferrous and exotic materials is required. Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine fully powered down and locked out. Use the appropriate T-A holder torx or hex key to seat the insert securely against the holder pocket before any cutting operation. Inspect the holder seat for debris or wear before installing a new insert. Follow the tool manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and speed selection based on workpiece material and hole depth.
