The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C51T-0023 is a spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in steel and hard materials. Measuring 23/32 inches in diameter with a 132-degree point angle, this insert seats in Size 1 T-A series spade drill holders. The carbide substrate carries a C5 (P40) material grade and is finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) PVD coating, which extends tool life when cutting ferrous and hard workpiece materials. At 0.1563 inches thick, the insert delivers consistent cutting geometry and is sized for fractional inch tooling systems. Machinists and tooling technicians install this insert as a replacement or spare in production and job-shop drilling operations.
The 1C51T-0023 is suited for drilling operations in steel and hard materials across both production and maintenance machining environments. It fits T-A series spade drill bodies at Seat Size 1 and is intended for use in CNC machining centers, lathes with live tooling, and drill press setups where spade-style tooling is the preferred method for larger-diameter hole generation. The TiN coating supports performance in P-grade and H-grade workpiece material classifications as defined by ISO cutting tool standards.
Designed for use with T-A series Seat Size 1 spade drill holders. Primary workpiece material codes P (steel) and H (hard material) per ISO material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state before insert replacement. Seat surfaces on the drill body should be cleaned and inspected for damage before seating the new insert. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified fasteners when securing the insert to the holder body. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material grade being machined.
