The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 152T-25-FB is a spade drill insert designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built from Super Cobalt with a TiN (Titanium Nitride) PVD coating, this insert delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance under elevated cutting temperatures. It measures 63/64 inches in diameter with a 180-degree point angle and a seat size 2 profile. At 0.1875 inches thick, it fits the T-A spade drill system and is installed and changed by machinists and tooling technicians on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes equipped for spade tooling.
This insert is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — workpiece material codes P, M, K, and S. It fits the T-A series spade drill holder system and is a standard choice in production environments requiring repeatable hole quality across a range of ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The 180-degree point angle provides flat-bottom entry geometry, reducing thrust and improving chip control in through-hole and blind-hole operations across both light and heavy manufacturing settings.
Designed for use with T-A series spade drill holders accepting a seat size 2 insert. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, S).
Spade drill inserts are installed and replaced by machinists or tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Ensure the holder seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert, as contamination will affect runout and hole quality. Torque the insert clamp screw to the holder manufacturer specification — do not use impact drivers on insert screws.
