The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 152T-0104-FB is a spade drill insert engineered for high-performance hole-making in demanding industrial applications. Part of the T-A series, this insert measures 1-1/8 inches in diameter and features a 180-degree point angle that promotes center-cutting accuracy and reduces thrust force during entry. The insert is manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a physical vapor deposition (PVD) titanium nitride (TiN) coating, which increases surface hardness, reduces friction, and extends cutting life. At 0.1875 inches thick and weighing 0.1 pounds, it seats in a Size 2 holder and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 2.
This insert is suited for production drilling operations in ferrous and exotic workpiece materials. It is commonly installed in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turning centers across aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing environments. The T-A spade drill system is widely used where deep-hole drilling, large-diameter entry, or high-volume through-hole work is required. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, and S.
Designed for use with T-A series Size 2 spade drill holders. Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or removing the insert. The insert must be seated firmly and evenly in the holder pocket; use the appropriate torque driver per the holder manufacturer's instructions to secure the clamping screw. Inspect the seating pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or wear before each insert change to prevent premature failure.
