The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 151T-0023-FB is a spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding machining applications. This insert measures 23/32 inches in diameter and features a 180-degree point angle, cobalt substrate, and a TiN (titanium nitride) PVD coating applied over the cutting surfaces. The cobalt base material provides heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds, while the TiN coating reduces friction and extends tool life. At 0.1563 inches thick and weighing approximately 0.1 pounds, this insert fits Seat Size 1 toolholders in the T-A series spade drill system. It is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium workpieces, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. The T-A spade drill system is widely used in CNC machining centers, lathes, and dedicated drilling machines where indexable tooling is preferred over solid-carbide drills. It is a direct replacement insert for worn or damaged blades in compatible T-A series spade drill bodies requiring a Seat Size 1, 23/32-inch diameter insert.
Designed for use with T-A series spade drill bodies requiring a Seat Size 1 insert at 23/32 inches diameter. Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard indexable insert replacement procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Use the appropriate insert screw torque tool as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to avoid overtightening or undertightening the clamping screw. Inspect the seat pocket for chips or damage before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
