The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 150T-15.5 is a spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding machining applications. Built from T15 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) PVD coating, this insert delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance under aggressive cutting conditions. It measures 39/64 inches in diameter with a 132-degree point angle and fits Seat Size 0 T-A series spade drill holders. The combination of cobalt substrate and TiN coating makes it well suited for applications where heat and abrasion are primary concerns.
This insert is used in production drilling operations across a range of industries, including metalworking, aerospace, and general manufacturing. Its fractional inch sizing and T-A series compatibility make it a standard choice for shops running Allied T-A spade drill bodies in Seat Size 0. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, and S. It is sold individually and packaged as a single unit per order.
Designed for use with Allied Machine and Engineering T-A series spade drill holders accepting Seat Size 0 inserts. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes P, M, K, and S).
Spade drill inserts should be installed and replaced by qualified machinists or tooling technicians following the holder manufacturer's seating and torque guidelines. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before inserting or removing any cutting insert. Inspect the seat and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert, as a compromised seat will affect runout and tool life. Follow applicable shop safety and cutting fluid procedures for the workpiece material being drilled.
