The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 150A-0019 is a cobalt spade drill insert engineered for high-performance hole-making in demanding metal-cutting applications. Designed for use in the T-A Series spade drill system, this insert features a 132-degree point angle and a TiAlN (Titanium Aluminum Nitride) PVD coating that extends tool life by reducing heat buildup and wear at the cutting edge. The insert measures 19/32 inches in diameter with a seat size of 0, and a thickness of 0.125 inches. At 0.1 pounds, it is a compact, precision-ground component intended for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for drilling operations in ferrous and high-strength materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium. The T-A Series indexable spade drill system is widely used in CNC machining centers, lathes, and dedicated drilling equipment where consistent hole geometry and repeatability are required at production volumes. The cobalt substrate combined with PVD TiAlN coating makes this insert a practical choice when cutting super-alloys or titanium where heat generation is a primary concern.
Designed for use with ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING T-A Series spade drill holders accepting Seat Size 0 inserts. Consult the T-A Series holder compatibility chart to confirm holder-to-insert fitment before installation.
Installation of spade drill inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist following the holder manufacturer's seating and torque guidelines. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing inserts. Inspect the holder seat for chips, burrs, or wear before seating the insert, as debris on the seat face will affect insert positioning and hole accuracy. Follow applicable shop safety standards and use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant as recommended for the workpiece material being machined.
