The AIRGAS AIRG-CY-NI 60 is a Size 60 high pressure steel cylinder of industrial grade nitrogen (N2) used across HVAC, plumbing, welding, and industrial service applications. Nitrogen is a colorless, odorless, nonflammable inert gas, making it safe for pressurized line testing, system purging, and blanket gas applications. The cylinder ships with a CGA 580 valve connection, which is the industry-standard fitting for nonflammable, nontoxic compressed gas service. Licensed technicians and trade professionals rely on nitrogen cylinders for leak testing refrigerant circuits, pressure testing copper piping, and purging lines before brazing.
This cylinder is well suited for residential and commercial HVAC service, plumbing pressure testing, and light industrial use. HVAC technicians use dry nitrogen to pressure-test and purge refrigerant systems prior to evacuation and charge. Plumbers use it for pressure-proving copper and PEX assemblies. The Size 60 cylinder offers a manageable volume for field service work while still providing enough gas for multiple test cycles or a full brazing purge sequence on larger systems.
Designed for use with any nitrogen regulator or flow meter equipped with a CGA 580 inlet connection, as commonly used in HVAC refrigerant system testing, plumbing pressure testing, and industrial purge applications.
Cylinder handling and connection should be performed by a licensed or qualified trade professional following applicable safety codes and compressed gas handling guidelines. Always secure the cylinder upright in an approved cylinder cart or wall bracket before attaching a regulator. Verify the CGA 580 regulator is rated for the inlet pressure of the cylinder before opening the valve. Never use nitrogen cylinders to pressure-test systems beyond the rated working pressure of the piping or components being tested.
