The AIREX TA10201 is a 10 x 20 x 1 inch disposable fiberglass panel air filter designed for residential and light commercial air conditioning and HVAC applications. It uses Polystrand fiberglass media encapsulated in a polymer coating, producing a high-loft filtration layer that is soft, safe, and non-respirable. The continuous-strand fibers measure more than 3.5 microns, which classifies them as unrespirable and safer than traditional cut-glass fibers. The media is loosely spun on the air-entering side and progressively woven tighter toward the air-exiting side, creating a heavy laminated backing. This graduated construction increases dust-holding capacity, reduces surface loading, and adds structural integrity. The frame is a heavy-duty moisture-resistant white kraft board. MER value rates at 4 to 5, equivalent to MERV 4-5 performance.
The TA10201 is suited for standard residential forced-air systems, split-system air conditioners, and light commercial air handlers where a 10 x 20 x 1 inch filter slot is specified. It is a disposable, single-use filter intended for routine replacement as part of scheduled preventive maintenance. The temperature rating of 180 degrees F continuous and 200 degrees F intermittent makes it appropriate for systems operating under normal supply-air conditions. HVAC technicians and property maintenance personnel typically install this filter during seasonal tune-ups or on a regular replacement schedule.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement panel filter for residential and light commercial air conditioning units requiring a 10 x 20 x 1 inch disposable fiberglass filter.
A licensed HVAC technician or trained maintenance professional should shut down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect switch before replacing this filter. Verify airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with system airflow before seating the filter. Wear gloves and a dust mask when handling used filters. Dispose of the used filter in a sealed bag per local waste guidelines.
