The AIREX PM16252 is a MERV 10 pleated air filter measuring 16 inches by 25 inches by 2 inches, designed for forced-air HVAC systems in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The filter media is a 100% hydrophobic synthetic polyolefin material that is electrostatically charged to attract and hold airborne contaminants. Filtration efficiency runs 65-70% at the 5-10 micron particle range, with an initial resistance of 0.26 inches W.G. at 500 FPM. The enclosing frame is constructed from rigid, heavy-duty moisture-resistant beverage board. Support members are bonded to each pleat on both sides to maintain pleat spacing and structural stability throughout the service life of the filter.
The PM16252 is suited for residential air handlers, commercial rooftop units, and light industrial air-handling equipment where improved indoor air quality and extended filter life-cycles are priorities. The electrostatically charged synthetic media performs in a broad range of climates and humidity levels due to its hydrophobic construction. This filter is also LEED-point eligible, making it appropriate for projects requiring documented indoor air quality performance credits. It is available in 1-inch, 2-inch, and 4-inch depths to suit various filter rack configurations, with special sizes available on request from the manufacturer.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement pleated filter for residential, commercial, and industrial forced-air HVAC systems accepting a 16-inch by 25-inch by 2-inch filter. Suitable for standard filter racks, air handlers, and furnaces sized for this nominal filter dimension.
Installation is performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel. Shut down the air-handling unit at the disconnect or thermostat before removing the existing filter to prevent unfiltered air from circulating through the system. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame are oriented toward the blower or return-air side per the equipment manufacturer's instructions. Dispose of the used filter in accordance with local waste regulations, particularly on jobsites where contaminant loading may be elevated.
