The AIREX pm16202 is a MERV 10 pleated air filter measuring 16 x 20 x 2 inches, designed for forced-air HVAC systems in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The filter media is a 100% hydrophobic, synthetic polyolefin material that is electrostatically charged to attract and capture airborne contaminants. Filtration efficiency is rated at 65-70% for particles in the 5-10 micron range. Initial static resistance for the 2-inch depth is 0.26 inches water gauge at 500 feet per minute face velocity. The rigid beverage board frame is moisture resistant and supports pleat spacing integrity through bonded internal support members on both sides of each pleat. The filter pack is bonded to the inside periphery of the frame to eliminate air bypass.
This filter is suited for commercial, industrial, and residential forced-air systems where mid-range particulate control is required. The MERV 10 rating makes it appropriate for applications targeting pollen, mold spores, pet dander, fine dust, and similar airborne particulates. The electrostatically charged Kimberly-Clark Hydrophobic Polyolefin media provides extended service life compared to standard fiberglass panels. Its construction qualifies for LEED point consideration and supports reduced energy consumption through lower initial resistance. The filter is available in 1-inch, 2-inch, and 4-inch depths, with special sizes available upon request.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 16 x 20 x 2 inch filter slots in residential, commercial, and industrial forced-air HVAC systems. Available in 1-inch, 2-inch, and 4-inch depths; special sizes are available upon request for non-standard applications.
HVAC technicians and qualified service professionals should power down the air handling unit before replacing the filter. Install with airflow direction arrows on the frame oriented toward the blower. Ensure the filter fits flush within the filter rack or housing to prevent air bypass around the frame edges. Follow local mechanical codes and the equipment manufacturer guidelines for filter change intervals based on system load and environment.
