The AIR FLOW PRODUCTS 77162014 is a straight transition boot with flange designed to connect square or rectangular duct openings to round collar duct runs. Built to the 77F profile, this fitting measures 16x20 inches at the square end and transitions to a 14-inch round collar. HVAC installers use this boot to bridge flat plenum or trunk line takeoffs to round branch ductwork in residential and light commercial forced-air systems. The integrated flange simplifies attachment to air handlers, plenums, or duct boards, reducing the need for additional trim pieces on the job.
This transition boot is suited for new construction and retrofit applications where a square or rectangular duct opening must convert to a round branch run. It is commonly installed at air handler discharge plenums, trunk line taps, or custom duct transitions in residential forced-air heating and cooling systems. The 16x20 inlet accommodates standard trunk line dimensions, while the 14-inch collar connects directly to round flex duct or rigid spiral pipe of the same diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for residential and light commercial forced-air duct systems requiring a square-to-round transition at a 16x20 inch opening with a 14-inch round collar outlet.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or sheet metal workers familiar with Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association duct construction standards. Power down the air handler and verify the system is de-energized before cutting into or modifying existing ductwork. Secure the flange to the plenum or duct board with appropriate sheet metal screws and seal all joints with mastic sealant or listed foil tape per local mechanical code requirements. Do not overtighten fasteners on the collar connection when attaching flexible duct, as this can restrict airflow or damage the collar bead.
