The AIR FLOW PRODUCTS 109026 is a 26-gauge sheet metal elbow fitting designed for use in residential and light commercial ductwork systems. This elbow provides a directional change in an air distribution run, redirecting conditioned airflow where straight duct cannot be routed. Fabricated from 26-gauge galvanized steel, it offers the rigidity and corrosion resistance expected in long-term HVAC duct installations. The 10-inch sizing fits standard round or rectangular duct configurations common in forced-air heating and cooling systems. HVAC installers and sheet metal contractors are the primary trades working with this fitting.
This elbow is suited for new construction ductwork layouts and retrofit applications where an existing duct run requires a change of direction. At 10 inches, it fits supply and return air trunk lines found in residential forced-air systems as well as light commercial air handling setups. It is installed in accessible attic, crawl space, basement, and mechanical room duct runs. Sheet metal screws and mastic sealant or foil tape are typically used to secure and seal the joint at each end of the fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal duct fitting for use in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC duct systems requiring a 10-inch elbow transition.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal contractor in accordance with local mechanical codes and SMACNA duct construction standards. Power down the air handling unit before working on connected ductwork. Secure the elbow with sheet metal screws at each slip connection and seal all joints with UL 181-rated mastic or foil-backed tape to meet energy code requirements. Do not over-drive screws, as this can deform the 26-gauge material and compromise the seal.
