The ADVANCED DISTRIBUTOR PRODUCTS s30l140 is an uncased evaporator coil designed for residential and light-commercial split-system air conditioning and heat pump applications. At 14 inches, this coil is compatible with both R-22 and R-410A refrigerants and uses a piston-type metering device for refrigerant flow control. It is installed in the indoor air handler or furnace cabinet and is the primary heat-exchange component responsible for absorbing heat from circulating air. HVAC technicians select uncased coils when the application requires field-fabrication of a custom cabinet or when replacing a coil inside an existing enclosure.
The s30l140 fits residential split-system installations where a field-installed or existing cabinet is already in place. The 14-inch form factor suits common air handler configurations. Dual refrigerant compatibility with R-22 and R-410A makes this coil suitable for legacy R-22 systems as well as newer R-410A equipment. The piston metering device simplifies the refrigerant circuit and reduces the number of serviceable components in the indoor section.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement uncased evaporator coil for residential split-system air conditioning and heat pump indoor units requiring a 14-inch coil with piston metering.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding an EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handling. Shut down and lock out the system, and recover all refrigerant before removing the existing coil. Ensure the coil cabinet or field-fabricated enclosure provides a proper seal to prevent air bypass around the coil face. Follow the equipment manufacturer guidelines and applicable local mechanical codes when brazing refrigerant connections and pressure-testing the system before recharging.
