The ADEMCO INC CQ100A-1039 is a 30-inch thermocouple designed for 30-millivolt standing-pilot heating systems. A thermocouple is a safety device that generates a small millivolt signal when its tip is heated by a standing pilot flame. That signal holds the gas valve open. If the pilot goes out, the signal drops and the valve closes automatically, preventing unburned gas from entering the heat exchanger or combustion chamber. This part is a direct replacement unit intended for licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and gas appliance service professionals working on residential and light-commercial heating equipment.
The CQ100A-1039 is suited for use in 30-millivolt standing-pilot systems including gas furnaces, hydronic boilers, and atmospheric water heaters. Its 30-inch lead length provides adequate reach in most standard appliance configurations where the thermocouple must run from the pilot assembly to the gas valve. It is packaged individually on a card and is sold in a package quantity of 10 units, making it a practical stocking item for service vans and supply rooms.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement thermocouple for 30-millivolt standing-pilot gas furnaces, hydronic boilers, and atmospheric water heaters.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified gas appliance service professional. Shut off gas supply to the appliance before removing or installing the thermocouple. The thermocouple tip must be fully seated in the pilot bracket and the connection nut at the gas valve must be hand-tightened then snugged with a wrench — avoid overtightening, which can damage the fitting. Verify pilot flame engulfs the thermocouple tip fully after lighting to ensure proper millivolt output.
