The ADEMCO INC. 1046780 is a six-pack of hardwired talking photoelectric smoke and carbon monoxide alarms designed for residential installation by licensed electricians and fire-safety contractors. Each unit combines a photoelectric smoke sensor with an electrochemical CO sensor, providing dual-threat detection in a single device. A voice alarm announces whether the detected threat is smoke or carbon monoxide and states the programmed location of the danger within the home. The 85 dB audible alarm ensures the alert is heard throughout the space. Battery backup keeps each alarm operational during a power outage.
These alarms are suited for residential applications in single-family homes, multi-unit dwellings, and similar occupancies where both smoke and CO detection are required by local fire codes. Each unit can be pre-programmed with up to 11 location names so occupants receive specific location alerts during an alarm event. The units are interconnectable and can be linked with up to 18 compatible devices, so when one alarm triggers, all connected alarms sound simultaneously throughout the structure.
Designed as an OEM-style hardwired replacement or new installation unit compatible with interconnectable residential smoke and CO alarm systems supporting up to 18 linked devices.
Installation of hardwired smoke and CO alarms must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NFPA 72, NEC Article 760, and applicable local codes. Power down the circuit at the breaker panel before making any wiring connections. Follow the manufacturer wiring diagram for line voltage, neutral, and interconnect wiring. Test all interconnected units after installation to confirm proper communication across the linked system.
