The ADAMS RITE 7140-310-628-00 is a 12VDC electric strike designed for remote electrical control of doors equipped with deadlatch or cylindrical locksets. When an electrical signal is applied, the strike jaw unlocks and releases the latchbolt, allowing the door to open without operating the latch handle. Configured as fail secure, the strike remains locked during a power loss, making it appropriate for access-controlled openings in security-sensitive applications. The compact zinc-aluminum alloy mechanism measures 1.44 inches in height and 0.63 inches in width, allowing installation into aluminum jamb sections as shallow as 1-5/8 inches.
This electric strike is suited for commercial and light-industrial doors using Adams Rite 4500, 4700, or 4900 Series deadlatch or cylindrical key-in-knob and key-in-lever type locksets with a latchbolt projection between 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch. It is designed for both metal and wood door frame applications. The 1-1/16-inch lip length and clear anodized finish are appropriate for aluminum storefront and hollow-metal frame installations. Installation is typically performed by licensed locksmiths, access control technicians, or commercial door hardware installers.
Compatible with Adams Rite 4500, 4700, and 4900 Series deadlatch and cylindrical locksets with latchbolt projection of 1/2 inch to 5/8 inch. Also fits the existing door prep for discontinued Adams Rite 7040, 7840N, and 7850 electric strikes. Compatible with metal and wood door frame types.
